"The teaching in this book should tend to an expansion of consciousness, and should bring about a recognition of the adequacy, as a working basis, for both science and religion, of that interpretation of the process of nature which has been formulated for us by the Master Minds of all time." (p.VIII). - Alice Bailey (1880-1949) joined to the Adyar - Theosophical Society of H. P. Blavatsky in 1915. From 1919 on she received messages from the "Tibetian" per telepathical contact. "A Treatise on Cosmic Fire" deals with the underlying structure of occult teaching for the present era, with vast cosmic processes reproduced through all areas of life from universe to atom. In 1920 inner tensions in the Theosophical Society caused a splitting. 1923 Bailey named, on suggestion of the "Masters", her association "Arcan School". In Switzerland this society is known under the title "Lucis Trust", it has an administration in New York. - With index. - Little dusty and knocked; endpaper with dedication; notes next to the title page, which is folded and stamped; else a good copy.
