Einsiedel war Assessor der Weimarer Justizverwaltung und ging 1776 als Kammerherr an den Weimarer Hof. ",L'ami', wie Einsiedel bei Hof genannt wurde, erfreute sich allgemeiner Beliebtheit" (DBE), war u. a. als Reisemarschall, Maitre de Plaisir, Schauspieler, Musiker, Dichter und Komponist tätig, redigierte das handschriftliche Journal des Tiefurter Kreises und bearbeitete und übersetzte Stücke von Plautus, Terenz, Moliere, Goldoni und Calderon. Daneben schrieb er Possen und Gedichte sowie die von Schiller gelobten "Grundlinien zu einer Theorie der Schauspielkunst" (1797). - Aus der Sammlung Alexander Meyer Cohen. - Abgedruckt in Sophien-Ausgabe, Bd. III, Nr. 531; die Datierung nach Bd.
