Hardcover, bound in contemporary half polished calf and forest-green ribbed cloth, sides and corners ornamentally roll-tooled in blind, spine gilt; bit worn and chafed in places, inner-hinges split; foxed. Overall a handsome copy in good condition, and with the contemporary armorial bookplate, "Auspicium Melioris Aevi" (an omen of a better age, motto of the Order of St. Michael and St. George). - - First edition.
