Durham, NC. Some minor cracking to the glossy surface, VG. Uncommon. Oriented horizontally. McDougall established the Parapsychology Laboratory at Duke in 1927. Stern jointed the Duke faculty in 1934. Lewin taught at Duke in the mid- to late 1930s. An attractive photograph linking three important figures in 20th century psychology. McDougall's 1908 Introduction to Social Psychology was the first book by a psychologist with "Social Psychology" in the title. Lewin was one of the founders of organizational & group psycholoyg. A founder both of applied psychology and of the psychology of individual differences, Stern is probably best known for inventing the concept of IQ in 1912. Weight: 0.1 ounces = 4 grams. Size: 5.2 x 7.2 inches = 13 x 18cm. With McDougall, Lewin, and Stern identified in ink on the obverse, below which is written "Duke University // Durham N.C. 1937" [with a later? [not a very legible signature -- Rosenzweig has written under it in pencil "Mc Dougall". Weight: 1.0 ounces = 28 grams. Size: 3.2 x 5.6 inches = 8.1 x 14cm. One of the great names in 20th century psychology, McDougall (while still in London) published in 1908 the first book on social psychology so-titled. After a distinguished career in England, he founded the Duke Department of Parapsychology. Saul Rosenzweig (1907-2004) later became professor of psychology at Washington University. He made a number of notable contributions to clinical psychology and was also a significant Freud scholar -- his 1992 book Freud, Jung, and Hall the King-Maker is the most extensive discussion of Freud's only visit to America, in 1909.
