Copy number 41 of 75 on handmade paper, out of a total of 1,250 copies, SIGNED by Rockwell Kent, and with an EXTRA SUITE OF PLATES. 4to., illustrated with 21 wood engravings by Rockwell Kent. Full maroon polished calf, quadruple gilt fillet borders, top edge gilt, all edges uncut. With the Rockwell Kent bookplate of John and Helen Friel on front pastedown, spine sunned and somewhat scuffed, in maroon cloth slipcase, with extra plates matted and enclosed in a matching cloth box. One of the loveliest books Kent ever illustrated, the typography being by Will Ransom; this being its finest incarnation, on handmade paper, in a full binding, and with an extra suite of the exquisitely erotic wood engravings by Rockwell Kent, matted and boxed.

Top edge has a few small spots else fine in dustjacket with a trace of wear to the extremities with the handwritten limited edition number in ink at the foot as with all copies of this title else near fine. Laid in is the matching publisher's prospectus for the book in fine condition. Previous owner's rubber ownership name stamp at top corner of front fly and rear endpaper. This copy has been numbered in red ink and signed with in black ink with his distinctive tiny signature, by artist Rockwell Kent on the limitation page at the rear. A gorgeous copy of this beautiful little book which is profusely illustrated with the later bookplates and marks of Rockwell Kent on double pages. A great book. Scarce, especially in this beautiful condition.

Chemise is lightly tanned with a trace of soiling and a trace of wear to the extremities else near fine. Book and prints have a trace of edge tanning else fine. A beautiful copy of this scarce and excellent tribute to artist Rockwell Kent issued by the National Council of American-Soviet Friendship following his death. A wonderful and important Rockwell Kent item. Rare, especially in this beautiful condition and complete with the book and all plates.
