Sohl, Jerry: Costigan's Needle, New York Rinehart & Company, Inc. ; fester Einband / hard cover; Schutzumschlag / dust cover; 1. Ed.
Very Good Robert Shore
BOOK: Spine Bumped; Moderate Shelf Rub to Boards. DUST JACKET: Repaired; Lightly Creased; Lightly Scuffed; Lightly Chipped; Slight Yellowing Due to Age; In Archival Quality Jacket Cover. SYNOPSIS: Dr. Winfield Costigan had designed his "Needle" as a boon to medical research, incorporating some principles of X-ray, plus a few other devices of his own invention. But few men are able to let well enough alone, and when the Inland Electronics Company puts up a cool million to finance the project, Costigan constructs a needle big enough to allow a man to step inside. At a secret testing, Glenn Basher of Inland Electronics draws the short straw and passes through the eye of the needle. Trouble is, he dos not reappear. Naturally, the police begin to show interest in the case of the missing man. Interference by the press and finally the meddling of a fanatic bring things to a most eerie climax on "the other side" of the needle. This is science-fiction of a most entertaining variety - a fantastic adventure in time, but peopled with fully developed characters in situations that allow them to react in a most human way.
