Fine illustrated biblical reading book for the older children, with stories on the death of Abel, Jacob's death-bed, the birth of Moses and the saving of his life, Daniel at the Assyrian and Persian courts, and several stories on the life of Jesus. Petronella Moens (1762-1843), gone blind at the age of four, devoted her life to writing. Next to a large number of popular novels, she wrote over fifty exemplary educational books, mostly aimed at the young girls of the richer families. Her books were mostly well produced, printed on paper of good quality, and illustrated with more expensive copper-engravings.
