Helge,Toutenburg;Shalabh: Statistical Analysis of Designed Experiments, Springer-Verlag GmbH, Oktober 2009 ISBN: 1441911472
This textbook presents the design and analysis of experiments that comprise the aspects of classical theory for continuous response, modern procedures for categorical response, and especially for correlated categorical response. For any design (independent and matched-pair response) the parametric and nonparametric tests depending on the data level are given. Complex designs, such as, for example, cross-over and repeated measures, are included at an introductory and advanced manner. The problem of missing data is also handled with care and procedures in approaching this problem are proposed. Thus, this is an important resource/reference book for undergraduates and university teachers, for statistical researchers in the pharmaceutical industry, or other industries, as well as for clinical research in medicine and dentistry. The third edition contains a new chapter on incomplete block designs that includes the balanced incomplete block design and partially balanced incomplete block design in addition to the general theory on incomplete block designs. The chapter Multifactor Experiments is extended and includes new topics on confounding, partial confounding and fractional replications that are explained with examples. The more theoretical proofs of Chapters 3, 4 and 6 are put into an appendix.Helge Toutenburg is Professor of Statistics at the University of Munich. He has written nineteen books on linear models, statistical methods in quality engineering, and the analysis of designed experiments. He works on applications of statistics to the fields of medicine and engineering.Shalabh is Associate Professor of Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He has co-authored a book on linear models and co-edited a book on the recent developments in the area of linear models. He works in the area of linear models, regression analysis and econometrics. TOC:Introduction.- Comparison of two samples.- The linear regression model.- Single-factor experiments with fixed and random effects.- More restrictive designs.- Incomplete block designs.- Multifactor experiments.- Models for categorical response variables.- Repeated measures model.- Cross-over design. - Statistical analysis of incomplete data.<

Ziegler, A: Incomplete Information and Heterogeneous Beliefs in Continuous-time Finance. New York, NY, U.S.A. Springer-Verlag New York, Incorporated, 2003. ISBN: 3540003444
Zustand: Gut, About this book: This book considers the impact of incomplete information and heterogeneous beliefs on investor's optimal portfolio and consumption behavior and equilibrium asset prices. After a brief review of the existing incomplete information literature, the effect of incomplete information on investors' exptected utility, risky asset prices, and interest rates is described. It is demonstrated that increasing the quality of investors' information need not increase their expected utility and the prices of risky assets. The impact of heterogeneous beliefs on investors' portfolio and consumption behavior and equilibrium asset prices is shown to be non-trivial. Heterogeneous beliefs can explain a number of observed phenomena, such as the fact that equilibrium state-price densities are not log-normal, the "smile" in option implied volatility, and the patterns of implied risk aversion reported recently in the literature. It is also demonstrated that financial markets in general do not aggregate information efficiently, a fact that can explain the equity premium puzzle. Demri, Stephane P. and Ewa S Orlowska: Incomplete Information: Structure, Inference, Complexity. Berlin Springer Verlag, 2002. ISBN: 3540419047
Zustand: Gut, XVIII, 405 p. About this book: This monograph presents a systematic, exhaustive and up-to-date overview of formal methods and theories for data analysis and inference inspired by the concept of rough set. The book studies structures with incomplete information from the logical, algebraic and computational perspective. The formalisms developed are non-invasive in that only the actual information is needed in the process of analysis without external sources of information being required. The book is intended for researchers, lecturers and graduate students who wish to get acquainted with the rough set style approach to information systems with incomplete information. Written for Researchers in the field. ISBN 3540419047, ISBN-13: 9783540419044
