Letsch, Perry: Das Mundharmonika-Liederbuch: 70 bekannte Lieder und Songs mit CD, Schott music distribution, 2005. ISBN: 9783795750862
neues Exemplar,Ungelesen. SYDNEY Harry: IT VERY MUCH DEPENDS UPON THE STYLE IN WHICH IT'S DONE. London, D'Alcorn. c late 1860's
sheet music 19th Century lithograph early music hall
With a full coloured lithograph by H.C. Maguire and printed by Stannard & Dixon of titles and then centred a framed mirror and inset a portrait of the composer/ singer, the noted early music hall performer Harry Sydney. Harry Sydney ( 1825-70) who has at least ¾ of a page of his repertoire published claimed that he only ever sang material he had composed himself.. Perhaps his most famous song was not one that he is usually associated- the war song Act on the Square made famous by Vance. He seems to have written a song called Whisky in the Jar but is unlikely to be the famous Irish folk song. Folio size with music. Condition VG
