! NEW-DVD ! In 1937, Speer was appointed "Generalbauinspektor for the Reich's Capital" by Adolf Hitler. In this capacity he had the responsibility to rebuild the city of Berlin into a modern metropolis of power for the German Reich - Germania. For this series Speer's work has been recreated in detail, from his first commission for the Nazi Party in 1932, to the "Hall of the Nation" that Hitler wished him to complete before 1950. Thus it is now possible to draw a direct comparison between the historic architecture of the old Berlin, and the buildings that were constructed and planned by the Nazi's. Some of these buildings, that were originally erected under Albert Speer, still dominate the cityscape of modern Berlin, although their origin is largely unknown today.Die VoßstraßeFocusing on the time period between 1932 and 1940, the historic buildings of Voss Street were digitally recreated for this film. Aside from the architectural highlights on the street, such as the Ministry of Justice, the Bavarian legation and Palais Mosse, the film also discusses the building where Albert Speer executed his first contract for the Nazi Party in 1932. ! NEW-DVD ! DVD 1 The Chancellery of the Reich The new Chancellery of the Reich was the only big construction project of Albert Speers which was completely finished. Till this day many myths entwine themselves round Hitler's Berlin headquarters. The myths which were built up by Goebbels' propaganda ministry straight. Partial these propagandist lies are not recognised till this day completely. This is owed primarily to the fact that the Berlin Chancellery of the Reich was torn off after the war on order of the Soviet management. Today an objective judgement of the gigantic complex of buildings is not alone - in hand of historical photos - possibly. That's why Christoph Neubauer has begun in 2003 to provide a detailed computer model of the Chancellery of the Reich area. In more than 300,000 working hours he has reconstructed together with other computer graphics specialists the whole complex. For it more than 10,000 photos and construction acts of the Chancellery of the Reich and her adjoining buildings were evaluated In the part being here of the film row "Hitler's Berlin 3D" the architectural connections which have lent her special form to the Chancellery of the Reich are indicated. All facades of the historically significant construction were reconstructed for this documentation outgoing by the old Chancellery of the Reich, further to the enlargements in the years 1929 and 1934-1936 up to the more than 400 m long new building which Albert Speer of 1937-1939 established for Adolf Hitler in Vossstrasse. Besides, the film first beside the official facades on Wilhelm's place, Vossstrasse and Herrmann - Göring - also shows the areas of the new Chancellery of the Reich which were not accessible of the public to street.
