Hall, Verna M. , edited by Joseph Allan Montgomery. CHRISTIAN HISTORY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, VOLUME I. San Francisco: American Christian Constitution Press, (c. 1960) 1961.
Red cloth, bright gold lettering. General index. Index to marginal notes. Bibliography. Chronological table of history 1578-1788. 28 b/w ills. RELIGION. " This volume tells how and why Americans learned self-government. Its concern is clarification of the origin and purpose of our institutions. " There is "... Widespread confusion as to what America stands for in the world today. Clearly the best way to confront that confusion is to recall what our collective purpose used to be, in the thought of those leaders in many lines who made it a beacon for the oppressed of all mankind. Ana that thought, of course, should be read as it was composed. To have it summarized, and often consciously distored, by teachers with a Marxist axe to grind , is worse than useless...It is not primarily a work of reference, even though invaluable as such. It is, rather, a book for browsing in the quiet of the home..."; 8-5/8 x 11-1/8"; 481 pages.

Hardcover, Good+; Ex-library with a slightly darkened area on the book's spine where the call label was. Library markings on ffep and bfep, period! Book's spine is a little faded but lettering is still bright. Minor soil and wear on the sound binding. The front hinge has been crudely, but effectively, reinforced with brown paper tape. Three pages have margin marks. There are very occasional words underlined in the text, done so neatly that I can't tell if the book was printed like that, or what. Else contents are clean. No DJ..
