Rear panel has a trace of soiling and a light scuff mark else very good. A nice copy of a beautifully printed (in gravure) Sam Haskins title usually found in lesser condition. Uncommon.

A spectacular copy of the German edition of the third book in photographer Sam Haskins' classic 1960's "trilogy" which followed "Five Girls" and "Cowboy Kate and Other Stories". From the verso of the front panel of another edition of the same book, "In 'Cowboy Kate', Sam Haskins used his camera for telling the story of a wild, lolloping western girl who curved like the wandering Rio Grande. In 'Five Girls', he reported on beauty, the luscious beauty of Bes, Gill, Anna, Helmi and Shirl-how they looked and what they did. Now, Sam Haskins' camera is for making poetry, for telling us what we already know but cannot tell ourselves, These pictures of a lovely girl and her hopeless longing for a man who will never come are an ode to lonliness." Minimal text in German. A great book. Beautifully reproduced in gravure. Uncommon in any edition. Rare with the belly band.
