First edition Little Loraine was not well enough to come and play so the Little People entertained her; Crest O' Wave and the Little People of the Ocean; King of the-Mer; Princess Rain Drop; the Flower Folk; Madame Sun and the Rain people; Queen O' Sleep; the Wind people; Little Leaves; Jack Frost and his Merry Men. Beautifully illustrated with 17 full page color illustrations,17 black & white full page, various small illustrations. Illustrated by M.T. Penny Ross, popular Chicago cartoonist (early 20th Century). In his early career he worked with Walt Disney, and later collaborated with R.F. Outcault in creating the Buster Brown cartoons. He illustrated numerous children's books including: A Year with the Fairies, Mamma's Angel Child in Toyland, The Flower Babies Book, The Flower Children, Butterfly Babies, and Bird Children . Illustrations are very fairy like, lavishly drawn.
