Collectible; Very Good
Very scarce 1856 1st edition of certainly one of, if not the very first, treatise on natural color in photography. A pioneering work in this new field, still in its infancy before the Civil War. A relatively well-preserved copy, still very sturdy and tightly-bound. And still in its original green cloth, with bright gilt-lettering and decorative blindstamping to the front panel. A bit of minor soiling near the fore-edge of the front panel and a light-to-moderate, inoffensive level of foxing thruout the text, which otherwise is completely clean and free of any markings or scuffing. A solid and bright, VG copy. Octavo, 175 pgs. A seminal early title in the history of photography First Edition Cloth; First Edition
