Sonu Shamdasani: C. G. Jung A Biography in Books, W W NORTON & CO, Dezember 2011 ISBN: 039307367X
In 1912, C. G. Jung wrote, Should it happen that all traditions in the world were cut off with a single blow, the whole mythology and history of religion would start over again with the succeeding generation. With this, Jung gave new understanding to the concept of world literature: that the history of human thought lay in the soul, passed from generation to generation, always ready to reemerge. This book shows how Jung s theory evolved through classics of Western literature, annotated books from his library, manuscripts of his Black Books and The Red Book, other major works in which he attempted to translate insights from The Red Book for a scientific public, the Gnostic and alchemical texts he studied and presented as parallels to his psychology of the unconscious, and Eastern texts he presented in collaboration with leading scholars, establishing a cross-cultural psychology of the process of higher development.

New Hardcover . In this book contains Seven Wonderful Chapters. Chapter-I shows that Colour definition, History of colour perception, introduction to colour Psychology and how colour affects psychologically to human beings. According to Carl Jung, deep down in human's psyche is collective unconscious where there are content of archetypes, the Original Pattern or Model from which other Things of the same kind arc made. Those are the Foundation Images that are developed and formed from our ancestors through thousands of years. Colour is a part of our psychological and Biological Heritage therefore sometimes we response to colour in certain way, for example, we think that Red is hot and blue is cool, these are found to be Universal responses. But colour is also quite personal since each individual has their own personality and their preferences of colour arc diverse. As Jung also mentioned about the extravert and introvert type of personality and it is found that these types of personality have dissimilar colour preferences : the extraverted personality type has a greater tendency toward more intensive stimulation, so they arc enjoyed more in colourful surroundings, whiles introverted personality type of people are more favour lower degree of stimulation, and lower intensity of colour are preferred. Colour can also affected by culture and social trend, which Means the Meaning of colour is not the same across different Cultures and period of time. Since we are living in different Societies and the meanings of colours are formed by myth, value, belief, religion, social custom, as well as geographical and historical background of that society. In this book chapter-11 shows that the historical back Ground of colour psychology. Johann Wolfgang Goethe was one of the first people to connect colour and psychology, with his book "Theory of Colours". In 1947, Max Luscher took Goethe's Theories one step further and actually created a colour test for the use of psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, and others involved with the "conscious and unconscious characteristics and motivations of others". Despite the ease with which Luscher's test can be administered, it is a very "deep" psychological test that can reveal a multitude of things about one's personality. Colour psychology came about through the work of several different people. Naturally, they differed on the opinions of colour and how it was perceived. But there were enough similarities in the end to make it valuable to people who Study colour today. In this chapter includes define various colours and how their affects psychologically to human beings. In this book chapter-III shows that colour charts about different colours related to the various elements to give Positive and negative outcomes from the human beings. In this book chapter-IV shows that properties of colour psychology with impact of colour to human beings. Another chapter -V shows that how colour affect moods, feelings and behaviors of human beings. The Psychology of Colour is primarily still within the realms of Folk or commonsense psychology and has been widely associated with culture. The significance of colour could well be related with particular cultures, Emotions and situations although there are very few Scientific Experiments on colour or a scientifically valid 'colour psychology'. The psychology of colour studies the Effects of colours on human feelings and behavior. It is usually believed that red makes people happy or fervent and yellow raises alertness, white is about purity and cleanliness, black evokes a Sense of mystery, Loss or anonymity. The psychology of colour should thus have two distinct branches - 1. The effects of colour on human emotions - the emotional and Cultural aspects of colour psychology showing significance of colour in evoking human emotions. 2. CH'I, P'ai Shih.. SHRIMPS. [Vertical Scroll Silk Mounted].
A LOVELY SCROLL OF SHRIMPS AND FLOWERS cinnabar chop/seal in upper right with signature, another red seal at the bottom left, a last seal on the title slip. This is woodblock printed and produced after a painting by Ch'i. See citation below in Guoji Shudian for more details. * Ch'i [Qi Baishi 1864-1957] is perhaps the most modern artist, popularized from the 1950's till his death, when the communists put him to work producing original painted art for the foreign market. A good number of his spectacular woodblock-printed books, large sheet woodcut portfolio prints and scrolls were distributed to the Western world. His fame was legendary, and he was celebrated by the Chinese after his fame grew in the Western world, and lived until he was 97 years old and painted an outstanding number of works. * Per the Guoji Shudian catalogue: "This work was reproduced on rice paper, with silk mounting." Where the wood-cut print is mounted at the bottom edge there was an old bend to the paper, it has been reinforced from the back side to help it to hang straight, a minor bit of edge wear, and some rubbing to the silk-cloth covered ends, never-the-less, by and large, while the mounting of this example has a few minor flaws, it still shows the magnificent charm, composition and great skill of the old master. Ch'i Bai-shih [1863-1957]** was considered a "national treasure" in China until his death. Now a days, his works from this period have mostly evaporated and are very difficult to find in original editions, and are scarce. * DATE: Per the chop/seal this correlates to Ch'i being 92 years which in that case means it was done in 1956. See Lai color illustrations 1 [p.60] which cites his age as 92; color plates [opp. p.92-93] 12, 13 for the same seal. The publisher is unknown, but one assumes Rong Bao Chai as this house did most of his works. * PUBLISHER: We believe this to be the work of the famous BEIJING RONG BAO ZHAI XING JI SHI JIAN PU, although there is no actual indication, but because Qi Baishi worked there, during this period, we can assume it was their production. The scroll mounting and style is reminiscent of that kind of work. * CONDITION: The scroll paper is toned, but the painting is intact, inquire for other details. * BIBLIOGRAPHY: See China Publications Centre [Guoji Shudian]: CHINESE WOOD-BLOCK PRINTS, pp.66-69 for other examples of Shrimps very similar to this one. * T.C.
