Schönes Exemplar der sehr seltenen ersten Ausgabe, mit eigenhändigem Namenszug des Begründers der modernen Kommunikationsforschung "Paul F. Lazarsfeld" (1901-1976) auf dem Vorsatzblatt. Enthält den epochemachenden Aufsatz 'The Radio Symphony. An Experiment in Theory' von Theodor W. Adorno als Erstdruck in Buchform, der als Grundlage der Gegenkultur, bzw. einer Theorie der Rock- und Popkultur gilt. Lazarsfeld, hier als Herausgeber mit dem Direktor von CBS, war nach der mit Marie Jahoda und Hans Zeisl verfassten Studie über die Arbeitslosen von Marienthal in die USA gegangen und hat seit 1935 ständig dort gelebt und als Professor an der Columbia Universität gearbeitet. Das 'Princeton Radio Project' war Teil des von der Rockefeller-Stiftung geförderten Radio Research Project, an dem auch das Frankfurter Institut für Sozialforschung teilgenommen hat. Adorno war an dieser Publikation in jeder Hinsicht, die mit Musik zu tun hatte, als Berater beteiligt gewesen; er wird, wie auch Arnold Schönberg, wiederholt zitiert. Weiters sind die Studien von Rudolf Arnheim und Martha Collins Bayne 'Foreign Language Broadcasts over Local American Stations', Duncan MacDougald Jr. 'The Popular Music Industry', Edward A. Suchman 'Invitation to Music', Frederick J. Meine 'Radio and the Press Among Young People' und William S. Robinson 'Radio Comes to the Farmer' enthalten. Diese Originalausgabe ist in keiner österreichischen Bibliothek, lediglich an einer Stelle in Deutschland zu finden (Universitätsbibliothek Erfurt).
