A very nice copy of this apparently uncommon work. Big, quarto sized book. 23 x 30.5 cm. size. Near fine in near fine dust jacket. A lavish production. Many historic photos in B/W and newer color ones and not lacking in text either. The sort of thing probably only given to visiting dignitaries. This copy signed by author Velasco, and INSCRIBED in red pen by Ex-President Ramos, who wrote the foreword, to the president of a local college here. Inscribed by Author(s) Fine Hardcover

This book is fiction in more ways than one: it is neither historical, nor particularly erotic, nor much of a novel, and certainly not representative of Ming masterpieces like Chin P'ing Mei. It is simply a Chinesy narrative designed to showcase 12 illustrations from the relatively crude (cf Romano) Ming erotica published by Van Gulik in the '50s. 382 pages, with 25 illustrations, and preposterous Anmerkungen.
