Parts I-XI (instead of 12). Stockholm, (C. Delen), 1806-1818. 11 parts (bound in 1 volume). Royal-8vo. With 66 (65 handcoloured) engraved plates and descriptive text. Later half calf, richly gilt spine with gilt-lettered label (original printed wrappers bound with). Nissen ZBI, 3259. Very scarce fundamental work on the Swedish fauna, in which many animals were depicted for the first time in Sweden. The complete work consists of 2 volumes with each 6 parts. Each of the 12 published parts is illustrated with 6 plates and some leaves of letterpress, which are irregularly numbered. The last part, of which the text was written by J.W. Dalman, was published not earlier than 1825, and is not present, as in most of the copies. The fine plates, engraved by J.W. Palmstruch and J.G. Ruckman, are all drawn by J.W. Palmstruch. The work is somewhat similar in style to Sowerby's "British Miscellany", though its illustrations are even more beautiful. A very good clean copy.
