Very Good Howard Pyle
A very neat, clean, and well preserved ex-lib book with only markings being stamp to title page, info page, a cardholder neatly (quite neatly) removed from ffep and 398p in very small letters near heel of spine. Illustrated profeusely throughout, must be well over 100 illustrations of scenes from the middle ages, medeival times. Boards are colorful, decorative, and very elaborate as is spine. Good head and heel to unfaded spine which is very presentable for shelf, very light wear to head only. Goodedges and corners to spotless boards, corners have some rubbing off of cloth but not heavily bumped. Inside boards and end pages colorful. Binding is tight as can be as are hinges. Clean, tight and even page edges. Lightest signs of handling only. Inside the pages are clean, crisp and white. A very nice copy for the collector of which a photo is available upon request. A lovely copy, unusually clean and quite fresh with the gilt intact on the spine. A small smudge on the upper cover and a touch of evidence of shelving, and internally only lightly mellowed.
