Very Good

An assiduously compiled, but less than complete, catalogue of recorded 10" and 12" 78-rpm classical music records available to December 1941 (European manufactures) or June 1942 (domestic manufactures). Organization is first by composer (Abaco to Zimbalist), then by name of piece (Abegg Variations to Zigeunerleben, in the case of Schubert). There is much to pine for in this volume, which in any case is a useful point of departure for any classical discographer or musical sociologist. 558 pages, plus Preface, Acknowledgements, and How To Use This Encyclopedia. DJ shows shelfwear, slight fading and tears at upper backstrap; boards are sound but bumped at upper corners; text is clean and strong. Revised and Reset Good Impressed Cloth 9 15/16 x 7 Hard Cover
