"Alan Lee has created some remarkable new paintings and pencil drawings for the book while Christopher Tolkien has himself redrawn the map, as indeed he did for The Lord of the Rings more than 30 years ago. . It is a testament to my father's skills as an editor that he has been able to construct a complete narrative without writing anything new. The words are one hundred per cent JRR Tolkien's, and for anyone who has read The Hobbits and The Lord of the Rings, this book will allow them to step back into a larger world, a land of heroes and vagabonds, honour and jeopardy, hope and tragedy." Adam Tolkien, grandson of JRR Tolkien. All our books are bubble-wrapped and securely boxed for shipping to reach our customers in pristine condition.
