September 25th, 2009 marks 112th birthday anniversary of William Faulkner, one of the 20th century's most gifted American novelists, short story writer and Nobel Prize laureate. Faulkner is one of the most influential and important Southern writers. His novels depicted years of economic decline from the American Civil War through the Depression. Faulkner's inveterate topics were racism, class division, and family as both life force and curse.
